Ingrown Hairs and Bumps on Armpit Skin

Ingrown Hairs in your Underarms

Let’s face it, ingrown hairs happen and they can happen on any part of your body that grows hair. Your underarm area is a very common place to get ingrown hairs.

Why do I get ingrown hairs on my armpits?

Every time you remove hair from your armpit you increase your likelihood of newly cut hair re-entering the skin instead of growing out. This as a result will create small painful bumps in the armpit, that could feel like a lump in your underarm. Friction from working out, changing clothes, or simply just moving your arms around causes your shirt to rub against your skin and/or ingrown armpit hair, leading to irritation. Sometimes, applying deodorant, especially after shaving, waxing, sugaring, or laser treatment, can clog your pores which can also lead to ingrown hairs in your armpits.

How can I prevent getting ingrown hairs on my armpits?

So, what can we do to stop ingrown hairs in our armpits? Sure, our 100% natural oils can help with ingrown hair treatment and razor burn, but would you not rather prevent them entirely? If the answer is yes, then follow our recommended skincare routine to prevent underarm irritation below:

  1. Exfoliate with one of our body polish scrubs (Nude or Sweet Escape) twice a week.

  2. Apply one of our 100% natural ingrown hair oils daily.

  3. You’ll need 1 to 2 drops of the oil to massage into your underarm area.

  4. For best results, apply the oil within the first two minutes of getting out of the shower.
